AUBURN - A. Bernice Fuchs, 85, of Auburn, formerly of Farmersville, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Oak Terrace in Springfield.
She was born March 19, 1919, near Divernon, the daughter of John Earl and Ella Visser Moody. She married Alfred Fuchs in 1946; he died in 1994.
Mrs. Fuchs was a graduate of Feitshans High School. She served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps and the Women's Army Corps from 1942-45, attaining the rank of sergeant. She worked for Hannig Insurance Agency in Farmersville. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farmersville.
Survivors: three daughters, Merilee (husband, Mark) Truebe of Springfield, Ore., Marlene (husband, John) Sunley of Springfield and Marjory (husband, Paul) Aherin of Glenarm; two sisters, Marjorie Gallert of Ludington, Mich., and Earlene (husband, Karl) Fuchs of Farmersville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Farmersville. Burial: Rovey Cemetery, Farmersville.
Hough Funeral Home in Farmersville is in charge of arrangements.
