Genovefa "Jean" Aherin, 98, of Divernon, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Visitation will be held at Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon, Friday, Sept. 3, from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Daren J. Zehnle officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery, Farmersville.
Mrs. Aherin was born Dec. 3, 1911, at Tallula, the daughter of Tony and Genovefa Brian. She married Emmit Aherin and the couple farmed for many years at Farmersville. She moved to Divernon after her husband's death. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Divernon.
She is survived by one nephew, Ronald J. (wife Gaye) Brian of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1969; one brother, Tony J. Brian; one sister, Mary Heggy; and one nephew, Donald J. Brian.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. John's Hospice.
