Linda Louise Heaton, 67, of Litchfield, died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 6:55 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1, at 11 a.m. in the Christian Church of Litchfield. The Rev. Steve Revisky will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.
She was born on March 20, 1943 in Tuscola, a daughter of Russell Harold and Dorothy Marie (Sparenburg) Byers. She married Charles Irwin Heaton on May 29, 1960 in Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro. She was a bookkeeper for her husband's business, Chuck's Auto Body, in Litchfield. They later divorced.
A member of the Christian Church of Litchfield, she enjoyed gardening, reading, being outdoors, sewing, attending auto shows and traveling. She especially enjoyed traveling to Texas with her parents. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Chuck (wife Pam) Heaton, and Cary (wife Jennifier) Heaton; three daughters, Carol List, Cathy (husband Ron) Loyd, and Connie Joyce, all of Litchfield; four brothers, Randy (wife Patti) Byers of Chula Vista, CA; Roger (wife Vicki) Byers of Carterville, Rodney (wife Jackie) Byers of Goreville, and Raymond (wife Debbie) Byers of Morganfield, KY; three sisters, Sharon (husband Bob) Holder of Raymond, Karon (husband Chuck) Linder of St. Charles, and Debbie (husband Bill) Woods of Centralia; 18 grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; five great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Russell Byers; and a sister, Bonnie Birchfield.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or Heritage Manor Activity Fund.
