Mildred Bandy, 88, of Hillsboro, died at 3:14 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at Hillsboro Rehab & Health Care.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro, the Rev. Harry Meyer officiating.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Hough & Sons Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
Mrs. Bandy was born June 9, 1919, in Hillsboro, daughter of the late Robert and Iva (Manley ) Short. She graduated from Hillsboro Community High School in 1937 and was employed by the federal government in Washington, setting up the USO. She was an employee of Hillsboro Glass for 25 years.
Mrs. Bandy's husband, Wayne Bandy, died in 1978.
She leaves two sisters, Margaret Pingera of Largo, FL, and Martha Aguilera of Silver Spring, MD.
Preceding her in death were six brothers, Robert Short, Richard "Dick" Short, Jim Short, Jack Short, and Donnie and Billy Short in infancy; and two sisters, Marion Hicks and Catherine Civitate.
