Moses Liebetter (or Lebeter for later relatives) is the Great Great Grandfather of my husband, Ed (John Edward) Lebeter. Moses was born 1824 in Derbyshire, England and was buried July 16, 1882 (age 58). He came here after the coal mines in Derbyshire were closed. He worked as a coal miner here, along with his sons. His son William immigrated in 1871, his other son Thomas arrived in the US in 1874. Moses had 2 daughters (Mary b.1859, and Evangeline b.1870) and 4 sons (William AARON b.1862, ALBERT Thomas b.1863, Moses b.1866, and Thomas Dean b.1869). His son Moses was born Oct 1866, and was not mentioned in the Litchfield 1880 US Census, so probably died young. His father, Moses b.1802 at age 78, was living with his daughter Mary and her husband Thomas Butts in the 1880 Census.
