Transcriber's Notes:
The enumerator's uppercase S and T are virtually indistinguishable.
Every effort was made to identify them, but frequently they appeared at the beginning of unfamiliar names, making it nearly impossible at times to know which letter was written.
The uppercase L is also nearly the same as these two.
The problem was especially difficult when names were written as initials only.
Researchers should keep this in mind when looking for names.
There are frequent instances of names, birthplaces and ages being scratched out or even over-written with other information, making interpretation difficult.
These are noted in Remarks.
This Census was transcribed by David E. Singer and proofread by James P. Finch.
