  • Julianne Skinner Historical Society I am researching my father's family, surname Mann, who I believe came from here. His grandfather's name was Elias S Mann, born May 15, 1864 in Hillsboro, Ill. On his death certificate (from Logan County, Ill) his parents are listed as Samuel H Mann, born in Kentucky, and Martha Stewart Mann, born in Illinois. I see that these individuals have records at this site but none past 1860. Is there someone who has information about this family?

  • Lindsey Neas andrew howett Andrew, I was searching last week for information on-line about where John James Rutledge is buried. If I'm not mistaken, he is the 5th g-grandfather to both of us. While searching, I located a website w/ a 1999 posting from Kathleen Howett. In her posting, she stated that she had pictures of James Mayes Rutledge (1798-1880), my g-g-g-grandfather, and also the old Rutledge family bible. I sent her a note, but the email address included in her posting is no longer active. If she or you have digital copies of your photos of James M. Rutledge, could you share them? I have photos of T.J. and Sylvia (Bennett) Rutledge, dating to the 1850s and most of the childrens' obits from '54 to '65. Lindsey R. Neas

  • Dan Hill Ann Stoddard Ann, My name is Dan Hill and I currently reside in Henderson, NV. I read that your 4x Great Grandmother is Naomia Jane (Hill) Rowland. Is your Great Grandmother by chance related to Priscilla (Hill) Whitten? She was born March 27, 1823 and died December 15, 1888 and she was married to Levi Whitten. Thanks, Dan Hill

    • Ann StoddardHi Dan. My 4x gg mother Naomia did have a sibling named Priscilla, but she is not Priscilla Hill Whitten. Your Priscilla http://history.montgomeryco.com/Def...;tabid=981 is the daughter of Henry Hill (1799 - 1855) and Mary Praeter Hill (1803 - 1842). Lots of Whitten's Montgomery Co name, so you should have considerable success finding information on your family. Let me know if you need any help using the site.

  • Clara Gregson Jean Holley HI Jean, Yes, I think we could be related! The biggest clue I have is from the marriage licence of Jacob Kaburick and his second wife, Rosa Walcher. On the license it says Jacob's father was Albert. The second biggest clue is from the obit of Jacob Kaburick, it says he emigrated to America settling in St. Clair County in 1865. St. Clair Conty is where my Great Grandmother lived. In April 1869 Jacob moved to East Fork Township. Clara I was told from little on that Mary/Maria was from Bohemia. Clara

  • Lyndall Foulds Donnellson Illinois I learned recently that my Harrison and Hill ancestors lived near Donnellson. Henry Hill, born 1807 in SC is buried in Donnellson Cemetery (d 22 Feb 1822). He is my 3rd great-grandfather. His son, Joseph S. Hill, b 23 Apr 1839 d 3 Apr 1902 is buried there, too. Would anyone else be descended from the Hill/Harrsion/Price family of Donnellson?
