I am searching for a divorce record for John Colwell Warinner (also spelled Wariner, Warriner, Warner) and Eliza/Elizabeth Butcher Warinner.  John married Melcenia Cruse in Montgomery County IL on 21 Mar 1869 (docket number 3847).  He had previously married Eliza/Elizabeth Butcher in Monroe County IN on 27 Jul 1862.  I believe that there was a divorce, but it is possible that Eliza/Elizabeth died in Montgomery Co IL between 1863 and 1869.  However, I have not been able to find a record of her death either and I do find additional marriage records for Eliza/Elizabeth Butcher in Monroe County IN in 1877, 1888 and 1891.  However, these records are not clear because there were two sisters as named in their father's will-one named Eliza and the other named Elizabeth, born two years apart.  It has so far been impossible to tell which marriages are for either Eliza or Elizabeth and which one was actually the one married to John C. Warinner --- quite a puzzle as each marriage is listed under the maiden name of Butcher but with the same parents so it is in fact one or both of the girls.  Can anyone tell me if divorce records are available for the time period 1863-1868 and if so, where I might find those records.  Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I have had my staff check through our records and we have not been able to find anything regarding this matter. We do have records that date back this far, however, none on this family.   You are free to search our records if you would like to look further into this.  Sorry we weren't able to help!

Thank you so much for trying to find the information for me.  It may be that Eliza Jane Butcher Warinner died in Montgomery County IL rather than was divorced there.  There is conflicting information and no documentation to support one conclusion or the other as we have yet been able to find.  Again, thanks for your efforts.  I do appreciate it.

I am doing a genealogical research of my great-grandfather, Albert D. Criner. Your records show he married Susie (Susa) E. Traylor on June 13, 1894 and then Mary Doshia Boyd on November 14, 1899. Your records also show that Susie didn't die until October 16, 1904. This would indicate that Albert and Susie divorced. Do you have any records to verify this? Thank you.
