As the owner of the historic Montgomery News building in the southwest corner of Courthouse Square, I am committed to the preservation of the history of Hillsboro.The building on the left of this photowas built in 1895 and was the home of theMontgomery News for over 100 years. This photo was taken on September 2, 1909. It is my hope that with the renewed interest in the history of our city that this website has generated and the completion of the Lincoln statue on the Plaza, that downtown Hillsboro will experience a revitalization that it very much needs.
