I lived in Ohlman, Illinois until moving to Owensville MO when I was 14 yrs. old. My parents, Zvingley and Hazel Kottwitz had a grocery store on the main road in Ohlman. I attended school at Ohlman Elem. and the Ohlman Methodist Church. I attended the 7th and 8th grades at the Nokomis North School. My father and my uncle August Kottwitz built and operated the grain elevator on the south end of Ohlman. We moved to MO in August of 1959 and August's family moved the next year. My maternal grandparents were Leslie and Angeline McClaine of Nokomis.
