I have researched my family some. My father, Virgil Leroy Cress, was born and raised in the Hillsboro, IL area. His father, Martin Luther Cress, was also born and raised in the Hillsboro, IL area. Martin's father, Daniel Cress, came from North Carolina settling in the Hillsboro area. Daniel purchased a farm, previously owned by Henry Hill, where there is a family cemetery referred to as Hillcress Cemetery or Cress Cemetery. Daniel's wife, Mary Cress is buried in that cemetery. I am interested in the preservation of that cemetery.
